The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) board of directors met on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. in the Administration Center on the Creston campus.
The board set a public hearing for review and approval of the college’s fiscal year 2019 budget. The public hearing was set for March 13, 2018, at 5:30 p.m., in the board room of the college’s Administration Center.

It's scholarship time! The SWCC Education Foundation (EF) scholarship application is now open and may be submitted online at any time. These scholarships will be awarded for the 2018-19 academic year. The deadline for scholarship applications is March 15, 2018, 5 p.m. CST.

The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) student ambassadors will be hosting a Miracle Network Dance Marathon on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, from 6-10 p.m. in the SWCC Student Center gymnasium. Everyone is invited to attend and get involved!

Creston, IOWA—Southwestern Community College (SWCC) was recently announced as one of the top 10 Best Online Colleges in Iowa by Value Colleges, www.valuecolleges.com. Southwestern, who came in eighth on the top 10 list, was the only community college to make the list.

SWCC Student Ambassadors will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, February 7, , from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., in room 180, Instructional Center, 1501 W. Townline Street, Creston. The public is invited. During this blood drive, all presenting donors will receive a free Red Cross T-shirt, while supplies last!

The Writing Center has announced its hours for spring 2018 semester. Beginning this Wednesday, Jan. 31, the center will host a writing workshop each Wednesday at 1 p.m., in the Instructional Center, room 140.
