Almost 20 youth attended the Osceola carpentry and building trades program's Carpentry Camp held at the Osceola Center on Wed., July 8, 2015. During the camp, each child got to build a birdhouse. The camp was conducted by Charlie Mundy, high school carpentry and building trades instructor.

Southwestern Community College is pleased to announce a partnership with William Penn University to offer an RN-BSN program locally beginning the fall of 2015. Courses will be offered in classrooms located in the Allied Health and Science Center on the Creston campus.
William Penn accepts many general education courses from SWCC. See the transfer guide available via the SWCC website on the transfer guides by major page for additional information.

July 8, 2015, Des Moines, IOWA - Elevate Advanced Manufacturing, a non-profit initiative spreading the word about gainful career opportunities in manufacturing, has awarded 10-$500 scholarships to recent Iowa high school graduates entering manufacturing-related courses of study at Iowa’s 15 community colleges. Jesse Shepherd of Creston, who will attend Southwestern Community College in the fall, is one of the recipients.

Southwestern Community College staff members handed out beach balls during the annual Creston Fourth of July parade held on Sat., July 4, in uptown Creston. It was a beautiful day and the group had a blast meeting and greeting parade goers.

Southwestern Community College's Drama Club hosted 32 children for the Little Spartan Drama Camps held Wed., June 24, through Fri., June 26, for children ages four-13, at the SWCC Performing Arts Center on the Creston campus.
