Registration for spring classes begins soon! The Spring 2024 semester begins on Wednesday, Jan. 16. The spring class schedule is available now on SWCC’s website.

Earlier this week, the Southwestern Community College (SWCC) admissions department announced the 2023-24 SWCC student ambassador team. The 2023-24 student ambassadors include Jayda Chew of Murray, freshman; Noah Johnson of New Market, sophomore; Tegan Streit of Mt. Ayr, freshman; and Hallica Warren-Anderson of Alpha, IL, sophomore.

The SWCC Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter is meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 12 p.m., and again on Thursday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m., in the Instructional Center, room 170. The meetings will include the same agenda, so please select the time that fits your schedule best.

The 2023 Southwestern Community College Education Foundation Donor-Scholar Dinner was held on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m., in the SWCC Student Center gymnasium, to celebrate the generous scholarship donors, as well as the 2023-24 scholarship recipients.

Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig was on the Southwestern Community College (SWCC) Creston campus yesterday morning, Sept. 20, 2023, to meet with SWCC Interim President Lindsay Stoaks; tour the ag site; discuss the challenges of rural community colleges and workforce development, including the 260E and 260F programs; and explain third party certifications embedded in the ag programs.
