Students from SWCC's School for Music Vocations performed holiday songs on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at Creston Elementary School's Cub Club. It was an enjoyable holiday celebration, and elementary teachers reported the students enjoyed it immensely.

Two longtime Southwestern Community College (SWCC) employees, Ann Coulter of Creston and Dawn Esser of Winterset, were honored as outstanding employees during the annual Community Colleges for Iowa Awards, announced at a reception and dinner on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, during the Iowa Community College Convention and Tradeshow, Dec. 2-4, at the Des Moines Marriott in downtown Des Moines.
