A sincere thank you to everyone who assisted with SWCC Career Day on Friday, Oct. 10, 2025! The SWCC admissions department was ecstatic to welcome more than 550 students from 24 high schools.
Visiting students were able to select their career paths for the day, selecting from the following college programs: agriculture, applied engineering technology, automotive collision repair/refinish and automotive repair technology, carpentry & building trades, computer networking and information technology, electrical technology, professional music, nursing and health sciences, welding, and Associate of Arts/Associate of Science (transfer pathways).
Sydney Smith and Hailey Graham, event coordinators, said, "This was truly a campus-wide effort, and the admissions team greatly appreciates everyone’s assistance."
Career Day is held each October to introduce high school students to career-related areas and transfer programs they might choose upon high school graduation.

Oct. 14, 2025, CRESTON, Iowa—Northwest Bank has awarded a $12,000 Community College Arts and Culture Grant to Southwestern Community College (SWCC) to enhance activities provided by the college’s art and professional music departments.

The 2025-26 Donor/Scholar Dinner was held on Thursday, Sept. 25, and was an evening dedicated to honoring both the donors who make educational opportunities possible and the scholars who are directly impacted by their generosity.

Notice: Southwestern Community College will be taking sealed bids on the items listed below until 12 p.m. on Sept. 26, 2025. The items may be viewed at the college maintenance shed (north side of campus) on Sept. 20, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Bids can be submitted during viewing times. All winning bid items must be picked up on Sept. 26, 2025, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. or on Sept. 27, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

SWCC's Transportation Training Center recently unveiled its logo. The Transportation Training Center is located at the SWCC ag site and can train you for a career on wheels.
