The new SWCC advertising campaign, We Are ONE, is now underway! Watch for ads, billboards, digital content, and social media posts utilizing the We Are ONE theme throughout 2025.
The theme is largely focused on some of the top reasons students list when asked why they feel connected and enjoy attending SWCC—for example the community atmosphere, small class sizes, and being called by name.

During the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society’s 2024 Annual Convention, held April 4-6, 2024, at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, Lindsay Stoaks, Southwestern Community College (SWCC) president, was one of 24 college presidents honored with the Paragon Award for New Presidents. Stoaks, who was unable to attend the ceremony, received her medallion from the SWCC PTK officers during an informal gathering in the college’s Administration Center on Monday, May 6.

The Highway 34 landscape on the western edge of Osceola is changing with the addition of the ORBIT (Osceola Regional Business and Industrial Technology Center), a $3.2 million project involving construction of an impressive 9,000 square foot training facility, made possible due to a partnership between the Clarke County Development Corporation (CCDC) and Southwestern Community College (SWCC).

Southwestern Community College sophomore Franklin Pastorino has been named a 2025 Coca-Cola Academic Team Gold Scholar and will receive a $1,500 scholarship.
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation sponsors the Coca-Cola Academic Team program by recognizing 50 Gold, 50 Silver, and 50 Bronze Scholars with nearly $200,000 in scholarships annually. Each scholar also receives a commemorative medallion.

DES MOINES — Gov. Kim Reynolds and the Iowa Department of Education today awarded four Iowa community colleges nearly $4 million in competitive grants through the state’s Career Academy Incentive Fund. The grants support partnerships between community colleges, schools, industry, and community stakeholders to empower more students with multiple pathways to postsecondary success.
