The 2023 Southwestern Community College Education Foundation Donor-Scholar Dinner was held on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m., in the SWCC Student Center gymnasium, to celebrate the generous scholarship donors, as well as the 2023-24 scholarship recipients.

Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig was on the Southwestern Community College (SWCC) Creston campus yesterday morning, Sept. 20, 2023, to meet with SWCC Interim President Lindsay Stoaks; tour the ag site; discuss the challenges of rural community colleges and workforce development, including the 260E and 260F programs; and explain third party certifications embedded in the ag programs.

The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) School for Music Vocations (SMV) will present A Livestream Concert on Friday, Sept. 22, at 3 p.m., on the SMV YouTube channel.
The concert will feature Audio Radiance, Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, First Take, Pop Ensemble, Multiplicity, and the Townline Septet.

Anna Chen, Southwestern Community College (SWCC) professional music instructor, will present a piano recital on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, at 7:30 p.m., on the SWCC Creston campus, 1501 W. Townline St., in the Instructional Center, room 520.
Chen is enrolled in the final year of her DMA program at the University of Iowa.

The Learning Resource Center (LRC)/SWCC library, located in the Instructional Center, looks a lot different this year! Updates include a new fireplace, wall mural, creation center, and collaboration table.
