The SWCC Drama Club invites Southwestern students and employees to audition for the Drama Club fall plays, which will be performed November 15-16, 2017. Auditions will be Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 2-3:30 p.m., and Thursday, Oct. 5, from 2-3:30 p.m., in room 145 of the Instructional Center.

CRESTON, IOWA – (September 28, 2017) – Southwestern Community College’s Educational Talent Search (ETS) program invites high school seniors and their parents to attend Creston’s FAFSA Ready Iowa to complete college financial aid paperwork on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, from 3-7 p.m., in the college’s Instructional Center, rooms 208 and 210.

Registration is now open for Community by Design, an interactive workshop focusing on diversity and inclusion, scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, from 12:30-3:15 p.m., in the Southwestern Community College (SWCC) Instructional Center, room 180.
Community by Design will unpack the concepts of diversity and inclusion, as well as offer an examination of the most common and fundamental barriers to actually providing an inclusive experience, for example, the roles played by unwritten rules, and unconscious or implicit bias.

SWCC will host its annual Community Awareness Day this Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 9-11 a.m. in the main hallway of the Instructional Center. A variety of community agencies will be on hand to provide information to SWCC students and staff about the services they provide. Faculty are welcome to bring their classes through the event!

Southwestern Community College (SWCC) is anxiously awaiting final results from the school election held Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017. On the ballot was the college’s Six-Cent Levy, in place since 2007.
Dr. Barb Crittenden, SWCC president, said initial reporting is looking good for the college.

CRESTON — The TRIO Educational Talent Search (ETS) program at Southwestern Community College is hosting an ACT Boot Camp on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., in the college’s Instructional Center, room 180, to assist high school students in preparation for the ACT Test.
