Update May 2026: Microsoft recently changed their licensing rules. Currently, only the web-browser based cloud version of Office 365 (https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps) is available to students for free. If you are taking a class that requires you to have Office downloaded and installed on your computer, please contact the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we will assist you.

Microsoft offers Office 365 for free to Southwestern Community College students.

To get started, visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/download-office and then choose Windows or Mac.

Once the program is installed, sign-in with the same user name and password you use for your SWCC webmail account.

(Chromebook users will not be able to download Office 365, however they can use the cloud based version of the apps by visiting https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps and signing in with your SWCC webmail account.  Then you can click which app you want to use).

A team representing the Southwestern Community College athletics department golfed in the annual T-Fred Memorial Golf Tournament held on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at Nishna Hills Golf Club in Atlantic.

The Spartan Cafe will open for Fall 2017 semester on Monday, Aug. 21! The Caf', as it is referred to, is located on the SWCC Creston campus in the Student Center and operated by Consolidated Management.

A group of Southwestern Community College (SWCC) staff members attended the annual Adult Education and Literacy Conference in Ankeny, from July 18-20, 2017, at the FFA Enrichment Center on DMACC's campus. The conference, titled "Building Your Future with Adult Education," showcased more than 40 breakout sessions with speakers from across the country.

Joel Hartstack (pictured in photo above, at far right), of Clarinda, a May 2017 Southwestern Community College (SWCC) auto collision repair/refinish graduate, was named the country’s 2017 Collision Repair Technology Champion at the National SkillsUSA Championships in Louisville, KY, from June 18-23.
