Southwestern's agricultural programs were featured during the 2024 Community College Day on the Hill, held Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines.

Three Southwestern Community College (SWCC) students participated in the Iowa Business Professionals of America (BPA) 2024 Spring Leadership Conference in Des Moines, on February 18-19. All three students placed well and earned rights to compete at the BPA national conference in Chicago in May.

Creston, IOWA—Two Southwestern Community College (SWCC) students—Grayson Hewett of Red Oak and Hallica Warren-Anderson of Alpha, Illinois—were honored as members of the 2024 Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society All-Iowa Academic Team during an awards banquet held Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, at Curate in Des Moines.

During the All-Staff Inservice, held on Monday, Feb. 12, a number of college employees were honored for their years of service to Southwestern Community College.

Southwestern’s annual Transfer Day will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the Instructional Center, room 180. At Transfer Day, SWCC students and advisors have opportunities to talk with transfer representatives from many four-year colleges and universities all in one place. No matter where students are in the transfer planning process, Transfer Day allows students to do everything from begin searching for a transfer school to asking those last-minute questions before transfer.
